Stonecutter

I still feel
Safe
With my
         Love for you
In danger
Of
    Your
          Love
Being gone
My feelings
Continue on
Feelings drawn
From the calm
Felt within your arms
Places and times I
Knew you
          Saw the beauty
                         Of your truth
Slip through
The wall
        To fall
My heart

Sleuths of Reality (Transitioning)

The last page
Left to turn
Transitioning
With temperance
Finding grace
Myself I must face
Forward
Glancing back
To gain perspective
Learn to act
Out my dreams
Better than I'd
Imagined them
I will
Gather the strength
Endowed to me
In connection to
The powers that be
Light springs forth
Undoubtedly
With the
Sure-footed steps
Faith directs
Without question
Answers in lesson
Learned and confirmed
As truth
Each life holds
The most marvelous
Mysteries
Detected
With attention
To minuscule detail
In amazement
Of the arrangement
Individual atoms
Collect and compose
This, that and those
My head
And your clothes
So's
We
Sleuths of reality
Can pick up
And follow
Our own mystery

If You Don't Mind... Live A'capella from 2011

Here's a little Alice in Wonderland themed ditty I wrote a few years back. This performance is from a coffee house night at Central Maine Community College in 2011.

To Be Held and Repaired - Collaboration Piece w/ Amanda Hoppes

I'll be your bandaid
I'll help you heal
I'll cover your wounds
I'll make you feel real

I can wrap you up tightly with my love
Time cannot hold us back anymore
I hope what I offer will be enough
Because you're the one I live my life for

But you like to pick your scabs
To let them bleed
The scars don't scare you
Proof of the pain you believe you need

Feeling confined you break free
Time passes without waiting or pause
For you love has become
A fear instead of a cause

Reasons rummaged from your ravaged heart
Always seem to keep us apart
Still stars tell the story of our love shared
As dreams are where
You will always come with me
To be held and repaired

February Moon

The February moon
Was well filled
It waxed fantastic
Ringed with a rainbow
Nearly full
Surrounded
By the spectrum
And all the stars
In the infinite
Skies and space
Beyond perception
I propose
Which exquisite wonders
Will follow
As I am graced
With the sight
On a clear night
Once hazed by fog
Off-cast due to wind
I realize
The rhythm
When I read into
The rhyme
I find
A need
To remain aware
And continue
To be impressed
By each successive breath
As this February moon
Fills me
With awe

As The Mighty Phoenix (Into The Wildfires)

You must believe
In order to survive
When you choose to fly
Into the wildfires
That these flames
Possess the power
To purify
That you will
Come out more alive
That you will
Rise
Anew with the water of life
Welling up from the ashes
As the mighty phoenix
You must
Believe this

Radiant Underneath

Silence
Waiting through the layers of
The labyrinth around your heart
Twilight slips into evening
I remain
Without thoughts of leaving
I still want to know
The way through this maze
I recognize
The substance of which
It's been paved
Hidden between cracks
I always see
That the most beautiful
Radiant light lies underneath

Love Anew Light

The moon rises now
Thinnest sliver that can be
Love anew light beams

Design a Flow

Measure twice
To cut once
Make the model
Realistic to scale
In proper detail
Do not fail
To mark the faults
Upon the site
Because you must
Provide drainage right
To the retention pond
Water won't sink through
An impervious surface
And drain
It will remain
Without a pitch
To lead it in the ditch
Where culverts may run
Hidden under traffic some
Still must be shown
In representation
How one will handle
Weather events
Even those unexpected
Should not flood
Out into the street
Design
So as to keep
A flow
Of where the water
Will want to go
Naturally
Following the contours
Rushing rain
Into the storm drain

Such Sweet Reverie

Searching for
A source of inspiration
One who
Will ease me
Naturally
Into the joy of creation
Understanding
Such processes
Come at whim
With the wind
Blowing thoughts in
Allowing that these
Amalgamate energies
Are rising to the occasion

Blossoming
Boundless and bright
More than maybe
Baby
Burning down the house
Burning all day long
Honey
Burning right through the night
This fire
Bestows the light

Raising hallowed ripening
Rites returning respect
Rectifying the recuse
Of love
Rounded upright branching
Radiance compiling as ideas
Vicissitude
Becoming new
As they are worked through

Steamy in earnest interest
Sown by actions and talents
Seen with sure sensitivity
To feelings and frailty alike
Sufficed by snuggles
Steadfastly sensual
So my, my, my-
My dear me
When I can grasp
Hold on and bite into
These things
Well I'll be
Sharing such sweet reverie
